MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
The Mayflower Community Chorus has no formal auditions, but members must
meet certain musical qualifications.
Being a member of
the Chorus requires regular attendance to build both shared choral
experience and knowledge. We become an ensemble when you go from “I know
this” to “We know this together” and from “I can do this” to “We can do this
together.” The more concepts we learn in common with the Chorus, the more
quickly the Chorus learns in the future. The following is a list of
expectations that we ask all of members:
 |
Match a pitch (determined at the beginning of the season by the Director)
|
 |
Pay dues (in the form of a tax-deductible donation) and music fee promptly by
the member cutoff date or make financial arrangements with the Treasurer
|
 |
Participate in all show performances and Chorus events
|
 |
Our goal is to have complete attendance after the member cutoff date to have a
balanced sound and a more enjoyable performance. Notify your section leader if
you will be absent. If you have several unexcused absences, the Director will
determine your ability to participate in performances. If you know you will be
unable to be in a show performance, notify your section leader immediately.

|

mind-altering substances will not be permitted.
